V & A inaugurate their Mott Street gallery with a summer group show of five very different painters.

The artists include Justin McAllister, Brent Ridge, Jason Sleurs, Scott Taylor, and Wendy White. Brent Ridge's almost entirely transparent acrylic and enamel paintings capture overlooked milliseconds that have a big presence. Justin Mcallister's unsettling palette used to paint a young man drifting through nature recalls Wyeth's loathed and loved Christina's World, somehow. And Wendy White creates a street inspired abstraction with quick brush strokes and an experimental sensibility. All of these different works compliment each other and make an unexpected whole.
