In philosophical debate, the concept of the mind/body problem engages the basic relationship between mental and physical events. In recent years, with the ascent of neuroscience as a factor in philosophical argumentation, the mind/body problem has again emerged as a topical problem, concerned with the difference between brain functions used for imagination and action. In this exhibition, "mind/body problem" stands for the disconnect between concepts and actions, processes and objects, as well as perception and interpretation in the works of nine emerging artists, all selected from unsolicited submissions to Artists Space during the last 18 months.
